Mercury Bar is a neat little wine bar located at 22756 Westheimer Parkway in Katy at the Villagio Town Center. It has a great atmosphere and a tappas menu that is sure to please. The crowd here ranges from young twenty somethings to people that have had time to age a bit. It's has a classy but relaxed decor and the dress is casual chic. Prices here are very reasonable and coupons can be found for free tappas up to $8.00. With live music weekly, it's definately a cool place to meet friends. Their motto is Eat, Drink, Have Fun!
The Tasting Room is located at 1101-18 Uptown Park Blvd. in Houston. It has a hip, upscale atmosphere, just right for mixing or hanging out with friends. The clientele consists of local professionals which you will see enjoying the great patio space on nice evenings. The tappas menu is moderately priced and offers a variety of tidbits to satisfy anyone. Wines can be purchased by the glass or bottle starting around $10 for a glass going up to $1000 for some bottles. Definitely a great place for people watching. It has been said that if one were searching for a sugar daddy, this would be your spot! LOL!
Max’s Wine Dive is at 4720 Washington Avenue. This wine bar has a very relaxed atmosphere with a slogan of “Fried Chicken and Champagne?...Why the Hell Not?!”. The menu consists of gourmet comfort food with wines from around the world. The cowboy sushi is a must! Prices are in line with many of the wine bars in the area. You will see a crowd that is decidedly laid back with an age range from the early 20’s on into the 60’s. A less professional and more artsy feel here.
Block 7 wine bar located at 720 Shepherd is in what looks like an old warehouse. Definitely a jeans appropriate, casual place with an industrial feel. Lots of people watching here. There is “the Montrose crowd”, the large groups of friends, and the “father/daughter” tables. Conversation is a little difficult at times with the high noise level. They also had some tables outside for watching all the crazy traffic in this area. There is a nice menu with an interesting variety of tidbits. Prices are compatible with the other wine bars listed.
